Senior Thesis

The concept of my senior thesis project was to write an emotional story and demonstrate the ability to create that emotional atmosphere in the illustrations.

In my works, I combine visual storytelling with the texture of traditional mediums to create a sense of uncertainty, tension and fear the main character feels through the short story.

“As I walk downstairs with the bag in my hand I can hear my mother’s voice. She is flirting. Why does she have to be like this? They are still married. This is not okay.”

In the elevator, he looks at me with a smile
“What was that about?”
“She was judging”
“Was she now?”
“Did you see her face? What do you think?”
He shrugs
“Didn’t have to lie about it. We aren’t doing anything illegal.”

“It’s still dark outside. The door to the bathroom is slightly open. Warm yellow light enters the bedroom. I can see his reflection in the mirror. He stood there staring at himself and then he got out a razor and shaved his beard. I saw clumps of hair fall into the sink.”
